Ladies of Leisure

Issue 82 of Creative Stamping is now on sale and I can finally share these cards that I had such pleasure in making, the stamp set is so beautiful and so very versitile

to make things even better one of the cards that I made for the magazine was used for the front cover

when this happens I get so very excited

so for my first card I used Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers

wouldn't you just love to be walking and seeing that view

I made a stepper card base for my next card

I love the way that you can extend the scene when you make a card like this

I used gold heat embossing for my next card and it just makes me want to get my boots on and get out walking

I used a Clarity Stamp circle aperture stencil to create this next card

a nice simple card using repeat stamping, it is amazing what you can make with the smallest of stamps

I hope you like these cards as much as I enjoyed making them and if you would like more information on how to make them and lots more inspiration the magazine is available from www.craftstash.com

Believe In Magic

If you love Lavinia Stamps as much as I do you are going to love these cards that I created for Papercraft Essentials issue 183

With Fondest Love

Thinking Of You

 Hello

Believe In Magic

Birthday Wishes
for more information on how to make these cards
Papercraft Essentials is on sale now and available from craftstash.co.uk

It’s been a while

Well finally I am back doing something that I have been meaning to do for ages, people keep asking me if I have a blog and I do, its just been very neglected so Im now going to try and put that right and blog much more often

So here goes, this card has had lots of interest so I thought I would blog about it and explain how to achieve it

so to make this card you will need
  •  Altenew Wallpaper Art Clear Stamp Set
  • Altenew Dearest Friend Clear Stamp Set
  • VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink Pad
  • Canson XL watercolour paper
  •  Hero Arts Platinumn Embossing Powder
  • heat gun
  • Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers
  • Watercolour Brush
  • Post-it Notes
  • 7" x 7" White Card Base
  • Foam Pads
  • Anti Static Powder
Step By Step
  1. cut a piece of watercolour card to 6 1/2" square, dust the card piece with anti static powder then stamp the flowers over the card using VersaMark ink, cover with embossing powder, tap off the excess and then heat set.
  2. stamp the flowers used onto post-it notes and cut out making sure to cut just inside the line of the flower image, cover the flowers with the masks and then stamp the leaves into place again using clear VersaMark ink, cover with embossing powder again and heat set
  3. colour the flowers with Zig markers, start with the darkest colour at the bottom of the petals, I used Cobalt Blue and Light blue, then pull out the colours with a water brush, do the same with the leaves, I used Marine Green and Turquoise green.  I then used a pale blue to outline the petals and leaves and used a water brush to pull the colour out to cover the card
  4. fold a piece of A4 paper in half and sprinkle some platinum embossing powder along the fold line, run the versamark pad along the edges of the card and then dip the card edges into the powder, heat set the powder, heat from the front and back to ensure all the powder is melted.  Adhere to the cardbase using foam pads
  5. stamp the sentiments onto strips of watercolour card using versamark ink, cover with embossing powder and heat set.  cut the ends of the dearest friend strip into a flag, matt both onto card that has been covered with platinum embossing powder
  6. adhere the sentiments to the card as shown using foam pads
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope you've found this helpful, please do leave me a comment to let me know what you think
bye for now and I will be back soon with another blog post

Dragons Lair Designs Challenge - More than two folds

Hello Everyone, well where did that month go?
It's challenge time again over on Dragons Lair Designs and this time the theme is "More than two Folds"

Here is my take on this

now you might want to spot the deliberate mistake...hmmm someone misread the theme title when making the card so you will see that my card only has 2 folds and not more than 2 folds, but I was very poorly at the time so that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)

So to make this card you need to start with an A4 piece of card and trim the long side down to 25cm
then score the card at 10cm and 15cm and fold to make a zig zag

Next I printed off my elements to make the card.  The stamp I used is called Floral Tea Set and the papers I have used are from the Subtle Pastels range

I cut my papers to fit each of the 3 panels and then matted them onto pink card, I then used a lace boarder punch to make some decorative strips and these were cut to 4cm wide.
I coloured my image with Copic markers and inked the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and matted it onto pink card, I used foam pads to attach it to the card to give it dimension.

Next I added some bling to the punched panel and added a faux stitched edge with a white gel pen

A stamped sentiment turns this card into a lovely Mothers day card

I hope that you like my card and look forward to seeing what you make for the challenge yourself and if you would like to leave me a lovely comment that would be nice too

Bye for now

Dragon's Lair Designs Challenge - Hearts and Flowers

Hello everyone hope you are all very well today and maybe getting in the mood for love :)

Well the new challenge that is starting today on Dragons Lair Designs is all about hearts and flowers so do head on over there and enter your creation.  There is certainly lots of lovely inspiration on there to help you decide what you would like to make

For my card I decided to use the Purfect Love Digi Stamp

I started by printing off my digi stamp and colouring it with Copic Markers, the colours I have used to colour the image are as follows:
Moon -  B60
Sky -  B45
Cats -  E40, E41 E42, E44, E47
E50, E51, E53, E55, E57
Fence - E77, E74, E71
Hearts - R27 and R89

I then used a white Signo gel pen to add the stars to the sky

I then matted this onto dark brown card, then craft card and then white card

I then took an 8" x 8" white card base and glued some blue 7" x 7" pearl paper onto it, next I took some red 6" x 6" spotty paper and matted this onto white card, this was then glued onto the blue paper.  I raised my main image onto foam pads and placed this in the centre of the card

I then used a heart die to cut out 2 small hearts and stamped Happy Valentine's Day on one of them and wrote my Husband's name on the other.  I finished off the card with some clear gems

So there it is and I hope you like it and please do go and click on the link to enter the challenge yourself

Thanks for taking the time to read my post
